Autism takes time to recover and all lifestlye concern will be involved to help. In TCM, we look the diet as remedy, any food could be applied as herbal medicine. Autism is decoded in TCM as the disorder with the system of kidney, liver, heart,spine and brain. In the diet treatment, we need to avoid ones may course sensitivities and follow those help the support for recovery.
Food Sensitivities Elimination Diet
Different with food allergy, food sensitivities will not respond immediately,usually takes 2 hours to 2 days to react. It cannot be tested with the method for food allergy, but we could notice some common symptoms like: diarrhea or constipation, bloating, over active or sleepy, sore and ache in the body, headache, depression, irritated, aggressive etc. High craving for food can be one symbol for food sensitivities. The list of food with higher sensitivities is as follow:
diary product, gluten, beans, corn, egg, peanut, orange, chocolate and sugar etc.
Diary product and gluten could not be digested properly by kids with autism, the protein left over could impact the function of brain. Therefore, milk ( include goat milk), cheese, ice cream, wheat,spicy herbs, garlic, rice wine, etc. should be eliminated.
Suggested diet:
1. Fresh fruit and vegetable
2. fresh fish, lean meat,egg
3. millet, corn
4. potato, tomato
5.yam, sweat potato
6.soybean, kidney bean, green bean, black bean
7.walnut, chest nut



There are so many diets foating around that are said to help children on the autistic sprctrum. We are thinking of going gluten free with our little man.
